(ALMOST) EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!

How much do you charge?

Every event is unique.  To ensure that I can give you the best price and the best advice, I prepare individual quotes based on the following information:

01) The date of your event? (so I can confirm my availability.  GHE takes bookings up to two years in advance).

02) Location and venue? (so I can factor in travel and offer advice relating to the venue – particularly with regards to any volume restrictions, performance space required etc.).

03) Approximately how many guests you are expecting? (so I know what gear will be required):

04) How long you would like music for? (rates vary depending on playing times):

05) Which act/s are you enquiring about? (Solo / DJ, Duo, Trio, Band):

06) The type of event? (wedding, corporate event, private function, public performance at a venue etc.)

In order to lock in a performance date, you will be required to pay a non-refundable booking fee of $250 (incl gst). When the booking fee payment has cleared you will receive a receipt (and wedding clients will also receive a Wedding Song Selections Guide to assist with song choices for their ceremony and reception).  The balance payment will be required two weeks prior to the performance.

What gear do you supply?

GHE will supply all instruments, pa equipment, effect lighting (both for the act and for the dancefloor) and background music for breaks. For peace of mind we will also bring back-up equipment (mixing desks, speakers, microphones, cables, keyboard, laptop etc.) so that we can keep the show going if something does happen to break down.  A microphone can also be supplied for speeches upon request.

Are you Rainbow Wedding friendly?

Can you provide music for our whole wedding day (ceremony & reception)?

Yes! If your ceremony and reception are taking place at the same location we can provide music for your whole wedding day (up to 8 hours of music).  Your ceremony will be performed by Graham Hobson (vocals + either keyboard or acoustic guitar) followed by DJed music throughout your photos and canapes.  For your reception music you have option of Graham Hobson (live dinner music + DJed dance music) or Park Avenue Duo, Trio or Band.

What are the ABIA Awards?

The Australian Bridal Industry Academy was established in 1996 to connect engaged couples with trustworthy wedding businesses.  Each year ABIA host 5 State Annual Bridal Industry Awards (ABIA Awards) across the country, and the National Designer Of Dreams Awards (all business that qualify for the National ABIA Awards have been nominated over a 4 consecutive year period, achieving an average rating above 98% from their past Bridal clients).

All ABIA winners and finalists are determined solely based on the ratings provided by the past brides and grooms of Australia –each year the ABIA Awards Program receives 25,000+ wedding registrations, who are invited to rate and review their wedding vendors for their Quality of Product, Quality of Service, Attitude of Staff and Value for Money.

Graham Hobson Entertainment is proud to have won a number of ABIA Awards including No 1 Entertainment Agent In Australia (3 times), Top 3 Live Band In Australia (5 times), No. 1 Entertainment Agent in Qld (6 times) and No. 1 Live Band in Qld (3 times).  In 1996 GHE was inducted into ABIA Hall Of Fame.  Our ratings from couples in 2019 was 99.80% (Entertainment Agent category) and 99.57% (Live Music category). You can find out more here.

Do you perform outside of South-East Qld?

Yes! We are based in Brisbane, Australia. Our primary service region is from Northern NSW (Byron Bay area) up to the Sunshine Coast, QLD (Noosa) and west to Toowoomba, QLD.  We do from time-to-time fly to some amazing parts of Australia to perform so if you would like to book us for a special event outside of our time zone please do not hesitate to contact us for a quote.

Can we request songs that are not in your songlist?

Yes of course! For special events, we can learn up to three songs if required. Requests are always welcome from guests on the night. In the event that I don’t know a requested song, and I have a recorded copy of it with me, I will put it on during a break or when I am DJing. Aside from my musical skills, you are also paying for my experience and discretion. For instance, I wouldn’t play a request for ‘Uptown Funk’ during dinner but I would happily play that song later in the evening when upbeat dance music is more appropriate.

How long is a set?

Live performance sets are approx 45 mins in length with 15-20 min in breaks (which I will supply music for). Although events will be running to a timetable, many events (particularly where speeches are involved) will run behind schedule. For this reason, I am always flexible with the timing of sets. For instance, instead of playing 2 x 45 mins sets I may play a 1 hour set and a 1/2 hour set if that works better with the flow of the evening as it unfolds.

I have a relative/friend who can sing. Can they perform a song with you on the night?

In most cases, this is possible if arranged prior to the event as often I will have to supply additional equipment or backing tracks may be required. I will always make every effort to ensure your day is as special and memorable as possible; in a good way. If I am asked on the night without any prior knowledge the answer will probably be ‘no’. After a few drinks, one of your guests may think that they are the greatest singer in the world but experience has taught me that in the vast majority of cases it is an embarrassing flop.

What is your dress code?

Unless otherwise specified (eg. fancy dress events, casual private parties etc.) our male performers will be dressed in suits and ties, and our female performers will dress in formal attire suitable for your event.

How long do you take to set up?

Set up times can vary depending on the layout of the performance space, the size of the act and the number of set ups required.  In most cases, Graham will arrive at least 2 hours prior to guests entering the room to set up and soundcheck.

Do you require a meal?

Yes, at functions where guests are provided with a meal, each performer will also require a main meal and non-alcoholic beverages.

Are the performers on your website the same ones who will be performing at our function?

The artists you see in our promo are all regular GHE performers. For example, if you book Park Avenue Trio you can expect to see Graham, Tom and Chrissy performing at your event.  We do not have a hundred performers on our books or perform multiple gigs at the same time under the same band name.  When you make your initial enquiry, if a particular artist is not available on your event date we let you know in advance and provide you with alternative options. On rare occasions, when a change of performer is required after your booking has been made,  you will always be notified immediately.  We will provide another excellent artist to replace them and send you promo of the new artist who will be performing for your approval.
